​Elizabeth has not gotten much business from me in the last 10 years when she first decorated for us.  The reason why is that I still love everything she did and have not changed a thing.  Her work was so timeless, thoughtful, and she considered our needs and budget.  She saved us so much money using pieces of furniture that we already had and gave them a new life.  When people walk into our home they say how beautiful it is with the look of elegance but comfort.  I look forward to using Ms. Colt in the future.

​Our first project with Elizabeth Colt was a complete renovation of an old home we owned in Cincinnati.  As we went room to room, tackling the many problems associated with old home, Elizabeth created a "we're all in this together" team atmosphere. Every time we would uncover a "surprise" (mechanical or otherwise), her first, and in my view, most important, step was calming her very anxious clients.  We could almost see her mind racing as she provided alternatives to the extremely pricey "full gutting" option our contractor told us was a "must."  The solutions she devised are a direct result of her years of experience.  She was able to take our old house and update it to a beautiful showplace that rendered even our pickiest of neighbors speechless... AND ALL THIS WITHIN OUR BUDGET!

 

Our very first meeting stands out in my mind the most.  After interviewing several designers, we were pleasantly surprised when Elizabeth came in and instead of showing us ideas that were no where near our budget, as the designers before her had done, offered us several options.  She explained how we could save on certain things and where it was most advantageous to spend the extra money on others.  

She had our specific price point in mind throughout the entire process.  

 

Now, my husband is pretty hard to please when it comes to agreeing on budgeting issues, but alas, Elizabeth worked her magic, even on him, the toughest of clients.  She had won him over after the first meeting as well - "It's pretty easy to find an interior designer, but to find one that keeps our budget in mind is much more difficult."  He continued to shout her praises as we recently finished up our condo in Florida.  "I have found that most designers want to help you with the big expensive items and never quite finish the small details.  Elizabeth does it all!" 

 

I consider Elizabeth not only a talented, experienced and knowledgeable expert, but also a friend.  I wouldn't dream of taking on a renovation or new construction project without a commitment from her first.  When she signs on to a project, you know you've got a business-savvy professional in your corner, watching your back every step of the way... and that is priceless.

Elizabeth has been with us from the very beginning of our ground-up project building our house.  She has helped us tremendously from the smallest of detail to the largest.  She picked out door handles, fixtures, lighting, flooring, tile, furniture, rugs, paint colors inside & out, kitchenware, decor, the list goes on.  Everything that she chose was right on!  She has been a true pleasure to work with.​

 

Right from the start, she listened to the style that we wanted to go with and she stuck with it.  She was very sensitive to our needs & wants, and at the same time, kept us on track to stick to our style without going overboard.  My husband and I had the same idea of our style, but we liked different things.  Elizabeth was a great mediator for us, (not only is she a wonderful designer, but a "psychiatrist" as well :)

 

Elizabeth's color sense is amazing!  She can look at a color chart and pick the color that will be just perfect, and it was every time! We didn't have to put up different samples all over the walls, just a couple.  She knew what was right and it always worked. We highly recommend Elizabeth for any job, from ground-up projects to redesigning a bathroom to organizing your closet.  She is very capable and easy to work with!
